If a mechanic doesn’t possess the car repair skills and knowledge to answer the questions, then he or she will not pass the tests.

ASE-Certified Technicians Have Experience Passing a series of tests is only one part of acquiring ASE certification . Car repair specialists must also have at least two years of work experience with hands-on car repair. This means that when you get your car repaired by an ASE-certified mechanic that you know that he’s got both the knowledge and the experience to work on your car.

ASE-Certified Technicians Stay Up-to-Date ASE requires technicians who are ASE-certified to re-take their exams every five years in order to maintain their certification.
